About Us

My photo
WELCOME EVERYONE! This is our attempt to keep all of you updated on life here in Cayman. I miss seeing you on a regular basis and wish you could all live here! I hope you enjoy checkin' us out once in a while. Let's be honest, this is really a Kate blog with a few other shots thrown in. Will try my best to keep adding and informing. Kate continues to bring us such joy and happiness. Hard to believe she is two years old! Here she is in all her glory - doing what she loves to do - dancing on the table! I hear you all now "she's her mothers' girl". She is in many ways but also so like Paul - happy go lucky and goes with the flow - that is until her doll Dora is not in sight - then all hell breaks loose. Anyway, welcome and enjoy. Let me know what you think :)

Kate in her Easter Egg Huntin' Outfit

Kate and I and her Grammy during an Easter Egg hunt at Camana Bay, Grand Cayman. Grammy and Opi came to visit for two weeks in March and had a wonderful visit. Kate misses her Grammy and Opi!

This is Dylan or as Kate sweetly refers to as "Chi-Chi". Kate and Dylan have been together since they were 4 months old. They spend every day together and despite many bangs, bruises and a few bites, they really do love each other. It is a true "love/hate" relationship. Dylan's Mom Lori is my dearest friend here in Cayman and we both enjoy watching our children grow up together. Hendrick is Dylan's dad and as you can see in the photo, very happy to be hangin' with the chillin's.

Meet our latest addition to our furry family. This is Zoe the 3 legged wonder dog. Found on the streets of Cayman after being attacked by a pack of dogs who destroyed her leg and her newborn pups. We had to amputate but after a few long, painful days, Miss Zoe came alive! She is truly amazing. The most gentle, loving dog I've ever come across. Kate and her hold a special connection that is truly amazing to see. A younger version of our male dog Hank but the similarities are astounding. There are so many sad stories like hers here in Cayman and most don't have the happy ending she has but I'm happy to report that her story is one of the 'happy ending' ones. We may have saved her but in the end, we are the ones that are lucky.

Hope those cupcakes don't come back up Daddy!

Here's Kate getting her 2nd b'day cake.

The kids at the party. Notice Hank - just waiting for some cake to drop! Enjoying her b'day cupcake courtesy of Deb Morrison. There's Hank again :)
This is Kate on her 2nd Birthday. We went to the Botanic Park for their annual Orchid show. Hung out with the Blue Iguanas, listened to the Cayman Parrots sing her Happy Birthday and basically, just had a great day together.

Chubby cheeks - makes me just want to pinch them! One of her many 'looks'.
Took this video on a Sunday afternoon. Kate and I were chillin' on the back porch and playin' with whatever was available. She insists on sitting in her dolly stroller and amazingly, she fits. This posting is really for her Dad since he was working this day and doesn't get to see as much of her as he'd like.
How sweet is this? Chillin' by the pool on a Sunday afternoon
Kate loves this Buddha. She always wants to climb up on the table and just sit with him and hug and kiss him.
Decided to start a new tradition last Christmas and bought a Christmas palm tree. I figured we live in the Caribbean so why not? It turned out great and is now resting comfortably in our front yard about to give us some coconuts! This is Kate's nanny Amada. She's been with her since she was 6 months old. She is the reason for Kate's 'spanglish'. Amada is from Panama and only speaks Spanish to our chickita. She is wonderful and is teaching us all Spanish
Kate loves her furry friends as seen here with her own two dogs Lucy and Hank and with her 'cousin' dog Buddy in Toronto. Luckily, they love her too!
